The joke of the smart turkeys kind of feels one-note and almost hindered by the seasonal motif.
It's a much more interesting joke as it takes the Thanksgiving holiday background to fuel an adventure focusing on the rivalry between Rick and the President, but the jokes don't always land in the escalation of them. Speaking of taking a single joke and running with it, that's the same core conceit of "Thanksploitation Spectacular" as well.

With the knowledge of their show continuing for another 70 episodes, Roiland and Harmon can end the ninth season (or the whole series) on that one joke: Rick finally getting that long-desired sauce. His return angers Morty's father, Jerry, and, as the family deals with the impending divorce, Rick takes Morty aside to reveal that it was all part of his master plan. The series' third season premiere, "The Rickshank Redemption," ends with Rick Sanchez having reunited with his family after turning himself in to the Galactic Federation. Thanks to a deal with series creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, the series has a legendary 70-episode renewal that calls back to one of the series' best jokes. Earlier today, Rick and Morty fans across the multiverse rejoiced as they learned Adult Swim's animated sci-fi comedy would be renewed for not just one more season, but multiple seasons.
